Not to come off as a presumptuous person, but I DO speak for the whole mankind with this: Where would this world be without Steve’s contribution to guitar wankery? Where? Culturally, somewhere between lower and middle paleolithic age. Tops. I mean, just the rumor alone of Steve abstaining himself for a week before recording “For the Love of God” is the cornerstone of my life. (It’s right up there with Lars Ulrich’s performance on shit Death Magnetic.)
